Summary |
This is an extraordinary made in the USA vintage Hamilton watch from approximately 1955 featuring the Hamilton calibre 730. Look at the pictures to see this beautiful movement, the pride and work that went into this movement speaks for itself. This vintage watch features a classy design that looks great with a suit or out on the town. The unique clamshell style case design has done a fantastic job of preserving the movement and speaks to Hamilton’s quality and innovation. During this era, thin watches are becoming rapidly en vogue and this vintage watch features a think sleek design coupled with long “fancy lugs” which give the watch a very classic but artistic look. Fancy lugs is a term used to describe the lugs of watches of this era and earlier that were made larger and more ornate than might otherwise be required fo the purpose of affixing the watch strap. The case is 10K gold filled and features an inscription for when it was given to an employee of Nabisco. This was an expensive watch for the time and it shows that Nabisco likely treated its employees well ;-) Note that opening the case back of this watch requires special watchmaker knowledge and tools, a non-watchmaker should not attempt to open it. |
