This stunning time capsule from the 1940's is an ultra-rare new old stock example of the outstanding Excelsior Park calibre 14J which is equivalent to the calibre 40 used by Gallet. This watch was Fully Serviced by ClockSavant and includes its original watch strap and hang tag along with a new ZRC leather strap made in France. This watch was made by Damas, an outstanding manufacturer during this era. Excelsior Park made some of the finest wristwatch chronograph movements ever produced. The large 36mm case is crisp, unpolished, and in like new condition with the exception of a few light scratches from case opening/closing/shelf wear. The movement is, as you would expect, pristine and we are the first watchmakers to have fully disassembled and serviced it. Being the first watchmaker to service a movement such as this from the 1940's is a rare opportunity. The Excelsior Park movements are a cut-above the rest-- details include the pivoting minute jumper with ultra-sensitive hairspring-like tension mechanism, spring orientations/cutouts engraved directly into the plate, breguet overcoil hairspring, and superb manufacturing quality down to the screw heads-- all in new old stock condition. The watch is exceptionally clean and crisp after our service and is running superbly. We hand polished every part to remove the tarnish commonly found on Excelsior Park movements to return the watch to its original finish. This is an extraordinary watch and will be a centerpiece for your vintage watch collection.

ClockSavant Watchmaker Testing, Certification, and Performance Measurement
All the watches we sell go through a comprehensive series of ClockSavant-developed functional, stability, and performance tests and are only approved for sale if they meet or exceed the criteria we have established. Performance measurements for this watch are provided below. See the Support page of our website for an explanation of watch performance measurements and guidance on interpretation. The watch performance values provided do not necessarily reflect the accuracy you will experience based on your unique watch wearing habits. You may experience a gain or loss by as much as approximately 1 minute per day with vintage watches. Legend: Rate, Amplitude (Amp), and Beat Error (BE) are provided for Dial-Up (CH) and Dial-Down (FH) positions. Averages (Avg) are also provided. These represent the average performance of the watch across all 6 traditionally measured watch positions which, in addition to dial-up and dial-down, are the vertical positions of Crown-Up, Crown-Down, Crown-Left, and Crown-Right. Rate is expressed in seconds gained or lost during a 24 hour period. Amplitude is in degrees. Beat Error is in milliseconds. Lift Angle used in measurement is unique to the particular watch calibre.
