Summary |
This vintage watch is an outstanding and interesting example of a classic late 1940’s IWC calibre 89 solid 18K yellow gold dress watch. IWC was, and continues to be, one of the finest Swiss Watch manufacturers. The calibre 89 is one of its most famous. Designed by Albert Pellaton, it has proven itself to be an extremely robust, beautiful, and accurate watch movement. The vintage watch we have here is no exception— at almost 70 years old, it presents itself with class, beauty, and distinction. The watch features very unusual “fancy lugs”, popular during the 1940’s. They make for an artful and attractive look and feel and make the watch feel slightly larger on the wrist. We have rarely seen lugs of this particular design before, the watch is an unusual and highly interesting example of an IWC calibre 89 watch. This watch speaks for itself through its pictures, it was made with great pride, skill, class, and refinement. The watch comes with a matching yellow gold plated deployant buckle. |
