Servicing a 1954 Omega Seamaster Deluxe model 6560 calibre 354 (bumper wind) - Performance, Hands, and Preservation

I recently serviced this beautiful 1954 Omega Seamaster Deluxe model 6560 calibre 354 (bumper wind) for ClockSavant customer & Instagrammer @ennismotorsports, owner of Ennis motors & racing team. After servicing it exceeds COSC standards of accuracy across all 6 positions of measurement on both a full-wind & after 12 hours of running with superb amplitude. While the original "dauphine" style of hands for this calibre are relatively common, their sizing is not. The original hands were damaged and despite my efforts were unsalvageable. Relative to replacement, even the factory discontinues/substitutes hands over the years-- often nice original salvageable hands are replaced with new unattractive ones by the factory to the dismay of collectors. Is a factory substitute truly "original?" From a preservation standpoint, one may prefer truly old hands over any new replacement. This watch belongs to the owner, not to the factory nor to an overly judgmental collector. We have a right to preserve a watch as we choose. In this case, I located new replacement hands that were very close to the original ones. I also experimented with new old stock hands in my stock of thousands for high quality attractive options. I identified the hands you see on the watch. Omega never used this style of hand. Several people including the customer felt they were an improvement over the original. They are high quality with superb patina, ~ 70 years old, & will survive servicing for another 80 years or more. The customer has received the original worn hands back along with matched dauphine hands I sourced should he like a change in the future. So the customer gets the best of all worlds. Relative to servicing, it did receive some abuse. A screw was left broken in the plate & was drilled-out with a pressure sensitive drill. Damaged/worn parts were replaced as shown. The locating pin in the movement was damaged due to improper movement installation & was fabricated.
