Seiko 6139-6009 Servicing
In my previous post I referenced a Seiko being serviced with an “extra jewel” ;-) floating in the movement. After addressing a few items, replacing a worn date disc, and fully servicing it, this Seiko 6139-6009, owned by fellow Instagram’er @chronopal is now running superbly. It’s a beautiful watch, a very nice example of a 6139, and now post-service, a fantastic running watch that is highly accurate and strong running. I really like everything about this watch, another example of why vintage Seiko’s have gained so much popularity. At the end I provide timegrapher results with the chronograph off. The 6139's (and 6138) are known to have lower amplitude. However, I was able to achieve, relatively speaking, excellent amplitude and accuracy with this watch.
