SUMMARY
This beautiful Baylor Valjoux 72 Vintage Chronograph Diver from the late 1960's was Fully Serviced by ClockSavant and is a superb example of substantial Valjoux 72-based diver watch. During the late 1960's, diver watches and larger more substantial watch cases were being advanced. This watch is a great all original example from the era with its multipart bezel and crystal design (note the inner hexagonal ring holding-down the crystal), thick stainless steel case, integrated pushers, and screw-back. It houses the iconic Valjoux 72, a movement made famous over many decades for its reliability and excellent design. This movement was also used in the original Rolex Daytona. Note that although his watch was designed to be water resistant, as with most watches from this era, it is no longer water resistant. This watch is very similar to the Zodiac Sea Wolf Valjoux 72 and was made by Baylor, a brand also known for being used for some re-branded Heuer watches. The case is 43mm in diameter, 16mm thick and a 19mm lug width. The watch was Fully Serviced by ClockSavant to the highest standard. The movement was fully and completely disassembled, parts were replaced as-required to ensure a long and healthy future for the watch, fully cleaned, lubricated, and adjusted for optimal performance. We covered all bases, even the pushers were fully disassembled, cleaned, and lubricated. Everything is original on the watch including case, dial, hands, pushers, crown, and movement. As you can see the condition is superb overall and the dial is amazing. As is common on many vintage watches, there are scratches on the case back from someone attempting to open the watch in the past. We matched the watch with a beautiful distressed leather watch strap (made in the USA) and a Hadley Roma deployant buckle.

CLOCKSAVANT WATCHMAKER TESTING, CERTIFICATION, AND PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT
All the watches we sell go through a comprehensive series of ClockSavant-developed functional, stability, and performance tests and are only approved for sale if they meet or exceed the criteria we have established. Performance measurements for this watch are provided below. See the Support page of our website for an explanation of watch performance measurements and guidance on interpretation. The watch performance values provided do not necessarily reflect the accuracy you will experience based on your unique watch wearing habits. You may experience a gain or loss by as much as approximately 1 minute per day with vintage watches. Legend: Rate, Amplitude (Amp), and Beat Error (BE) are provided for Dial-Up (CH) and Dial-Down (FH) positions. Averages (Avg) are also provided. These represent the average performance of the watch across all 6 traditionally measured watch positions which, in addition to dial-up and dial-down, are the vertical positions of Crown-Up, Crown-Down, Crown-Left, and Crown-Right. Rate is expressed in seconds gained or lost during a 24 hour period. Amplitude is in degrees. Beat Error is in milliseconds. Lift Angle used in measurement is unique to the particular watch calibre.
