Here we have a Seiko Rally 6106-7117 I serviced for fellow Instagrammer @chronopal, a regular ClockSavant customer. It's a beautiful watch and is now running wonderfully once gain with renewed water resistance. The story here; however, is that he felt it was running well and only needed help with the crystal. As a regular customer, he trusts my assessments and relied on me to advise him as to the true condition of the watch. In-fact, the watch was crawling on its knees with sandpaper-like dirt. It somehow kept time more-or-less but its measurements were terrible and movement was filthy. So it was fully serviced and it is now beautiful once again from the inside-out and may outlive all of us. But had it been left simply looking good with a new crystal, and its movement not addressed, its life would be shortened and it might have never, even with proper servicing, been capable of good performance and true accuracy.
