Servicing a King Seiko Hi-Beat 4502-7000 Follow-up

While most people in the United States will be watching the Super Bowl today to see who wins, I have a spoiler alert here. The real winner of the game is this rare Seiko. This is a followup to a previous post on a Seiko 4502-7000 customer watch awaiting donor parts and another surgery. The owner of this watch did a fantastic job double-teaming with me and finding parts that were very difficult to locate including a correct new old stock crystal. The crystals on these watches have a rather unique design. In the pictures, note the red circle around the date function. This is an interesting dual cam design that accumulates the date change over a long period of time as the cam rotates over a 24 hour period but the watch owner only sees an instantaneous date change. Setting up the date springs and levers/finger can be very tricky with this design. The watch is now running beautifully once again.
