Servicing a beautiful brown dial Seiko 6138-0049 Bullhead vintage chronograph

I recently serviced this beautiful Seiko 6138-0049 Bullhead vintage chronograph for ClockSavant customer @haibito (Instagram), one of two beautiful watches he owns that I will be posting. His Instagram name translates to "hi-beat" in Japanese and is also a hint for the next watch I will be posting. I've seen a number of these brown dial Seiko bullhead models that have withstood the test of time, I'm guessing there was something obscure and unexpected about the process for the colors and textures for this dial that made them more robust. Seeing them up-close is every bit as beautiful as the picture shows, I really like them and fully exude 1970's charm. Overall, it's an outstanding example. During servicing, I encountered a great deal of grease in the movement along globs of old oil as you can see in the picture. Regardless, it's a well preserved example and was a pleasure to service overall.
